Face Lift in Costa Rica
Wrinkles and fine lines can be alleviated with a non facial rejuvenation procedure, but to obtain long-lasting results, you may consider a face lift. In Costa Rica, Gabriel A. Peralta, M.D. is a plastic surgeon whose cosmetic surgery practice in Costa Rica as been awarded by the Global Organization for Excellence in Health (GOEH). Board certified by the Costa Rican College of Physicians and Surgeon, he is a dedicated professional and provides his patients with professional care and safety.
What is a face lift?
A face lift (“rhytidectomy”) is used to tighten the skin and muscles that pull back wrinkles caused by the loss of elasticity from aging. Traditional face lift techniques have relied upon tightening of skin; but although initial results from these procedures often appear satisfactory, early recurrence of the original deformity, poor scars, and healing problems are common. These procedures typically produced an easily recognized tight, pulled, face lifted look that was usually exacerbated by subsequent procedures.
Experience has shown that an attractive and natural-appearing result is not possible without diverting tension away from the skin to deeper layers. Dr. Peralta tailors treatments to satisfy every patient’s needs. He uses the high SMAS face lift technique which is the more logical and anatomical face lift technique that proves longer-lasting, natural results (even though it is more time-consuming for the plastic surgeon). The most advanced techniques, instruments, and specialized plastic surgical equipment permits Dr. Peralta to offer his patients an easy and fast recovery.
Some of the other types of plastic surgery in Costa Rica to consider along with a face lift, for an overall facial makeover, include:
- Eyelid surgery (“blepharoplasty”): A face lift does not correct sagging, drooping, and puffy eyelids. For an overall facial makeover, eyelid surgery can be performed to make the eyes look younger and more alert. It can also be performed to correct visual eye defects, such as bulking in front of the eye, which handicaps vision.
- Cheek and chin augmentation (“malar augmentation” and “mentoplasty”): These types of surgeries can define the shape, contour, and overall look on someone’s face. A chin and cheek augmentation can alter your face to make it look less tired and worn down (often caused by the effects of aging). Occasionally these procedures are paired up efficiently with nose surgery (“rhinoplasty”).
- Brow lift (“forehead lift”): This surgical rejuvenation procedure minimizes the creases that develop across the forehead and on the bridge of the nose, and improves the frown lines and vertical creases between the eye brows. A brow lift also allows the reposition of sagging brows that are hooding the upper eyelid, bringing the eyes to a more youthful position.
- Hair Transplant (with follicular-unit micrografts): This advanced surgical technique provides the most natural results for alopecia (a condition that causes “spot baldness” in certain areas, commonly in patches on the scalp). Follicular-unit micrografting is a method by which hair follicles are redistributed to treat baldness with cutting-edge technology.
